Warsaw, January 2 (AP) -- David Halberstam, the New York Times correspondent who has been ordered expelled from Poland, said today his Polish wife would remain in Warsaw for the time being. She is a prize-winning actress.
Mr. Halberstam was last Monday given a week to leave the country by Government officials. He was accused of having slandered the Polish Government. He plans to fly to London tomarrow.
Mrs. Halberstam, the former Elżbieta Czyżewska, said she would be unable to join her husband for at least a month because it would take some time to get releases from her contracts. The Halberstams have been married for six and a half months.
